10 Best Shopping in Pattaya Beach
Best Places to Shop in Pattaya Beach
Shopping in Pattaya Beach isn’t famous, but there is still plenty of opportunity for it in the city. There are no less than five large malls within a short distance of the beach, where high street brands can be found with surprising price tags attached to them. There are also several regular markets offering amazing prices on goods ranging from samurai swords to fake football shirts.
Our guide to the 10 best shopping in Pattaya Beach lists ideal options for finding unique souvenirs, special gifts for him and her, fun novelties, charming curios and an almost limitless supply of pirate DVDs. Shoppers should be aware that just because an item is available for sale does not make it legal to carry. We strongly advise staying away from dangerous weaponry and adult-themed movies, both of which are illegal in Thailand.Read More

Since its opening in 2009, CentralFestival has been a combination of the social hang-out, culinary hotspot and shopper’s paradise and is one of the busiest buildings in the city, popular with locals and visitors. It contains well over 300 shops, many of them high street names, as well as a 10-screen cinema and 16-lane bowling alley. Covering seven chic, airy and open floors, there is a food court and supermarket, souvenir shops, an extensive collection of perfumeries, designer clothing brands like Calvin Klein, H&M, Zara and Marks & Spencer; high-class restaurants including Japanese, Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine; electrical stores such as PowerBuy, Canon and Samsung outlets; the eponymous Central Department Store spanning five floors of the Second Road end and much more. With a large mock aircraft half stuck into the building above the entrance and the yellow and white balloon rising above it, Royal Garden Plaza is one of the most distinctive buildings in Pattaya. Both of these features belong to Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, which takes up most of the second floor with its various attractions and rides. The other three floors are home to a range of shops, including big names in fashion like Levi’s, Esprit, Von Dutch, Converse and Nautica. Taking up a full block between Beach Road and Second Road, there is plenty of room also for shops selling souvenirs, jewellery, beachwear, food and drinks, electrical goods and even condos and houses. Also known as “Big C North”, Central Center Pattaya boasts over 130 stores and services other than the supermarket, including a five-screen cinema, an ‘IT Corner’ selling mobile phones and accessories, an impressive selection of restaurants and a range of boutiques, brand name shops and stalls. There are fewer international brand names here than at CentralFestival, but there is a greater variety of unique stores and bargain stalls. With its tropical atmosphere and design, it has a calmer, more relaxed environment than some of the other malls in Pattaya, making it a more family-friendly shopping experience.

Mike Shopping Mall is easily the oldest of its kind in Pattaya, giving the five-storey building a slightly shabby appearance. However, it is home to a selection of smaller brands such as Maybelline, Nike and Pierre Cardin and a large collection of stalls selling copies or cheap non-branded items, as well as an impressive array of souvenirs. There is a rooftop swimming pool which is available for public use for a small fee and “Artist Row” runs along one side of the building, which is home to a string of small stalls selling impressive original and copied works of art. 5Pattaya Night Bazaar0
- Opening Hours: 10:00 – 23:00
- Location: 262 Beach Road, South Pattaya
- Tel: +66 (0)3 841 2000
Also known as the “Made in Thailand Night Market”, this collection of permanent market stalls is actually open for most of the day as well. Keeping cool under the purpose-built shelter is a selection of small stalls and stores specifically targeting tourists, including tailors shops, clothing stalls, souvenir stands, luggage vendors and peddlers of mobile phone accessories and small electrical goods. The prices are slightly higher than those found in street markets but, while some of the stands have price tags on their wares, haggling is always an option.
6Soi Buakhao Market0
- Opening Hours: 08:00 – 23:00
- Location: Pattaya Second Road, South Pattaya
Dominating normally vacant lots and bringing traffic on South Pattaya Road to a grinding halt twice a week, the Soi Buakhao Market is nonetheless home to some of the best shopping in Pattaya Beach. The stands are set up under an ad hoc roof of old canvas and plastic sheets with only a very narrow walkway between them, so it can get very stuffy and sweaty to look around. Those who are willing to endure it are rewarded with some great bargains on souvenirs, jewellery, clothing, copied DVDs, toys, mobile phone accessories, fruit and genuine Thai street food.
7Beach Road Street Stalls0
- Opening Hours: Tues and Fri. Starts around 07:00
- Location: South Pattaya Road end of Soi Buakhao, South Pattaya
While there are wandering vendors selling copied watches, leather goods, sunglasses and DVDs the whole length of the beach, the permanent and semi-permanent stands start at Beach Road Soi 12 and continue south as far as Bali Hai Pier. The T-shirts alone include anything from crude and rude slogans to replica football shirts, with some dangerous (and illegal) weapons that we steer clear of. Food carts are particularly common on Walking Street, including those selling insects. There are also representatives from tailors’ shops at regular intervals and each will attempt to shake your hand, engage you in conversation and encourage you to buy a suit.
- Opening Hours: 08:00 - 23:00
- Location: Beach Road, South Pattaya
Sometimes called “the Pink Shop” because of the terracotta-coloured walls of the building, Home Port houses a large collection of artworks, furniture, ornaments, showpieces, accessories and souvenirs. The prices are higher than average, but the quality and uniqueness on offer is higher still. The collection features items from across Asia, though with a particular focus on traditional Thailand, and includes beds, dining sets, wardrobes, cabinets, desks, clothes, fabrics, fine crystal, Thai celadon, paintings, sculptures, urns, goblets, cutlery, knick-knacks and much more.
- Opening Hours: 10:00 – 20:00
- Location: 512/16 Central Pattaya Road, Pattaya
- Tel: +66 (0)3 841 5696
With its modern open-air design, The Avenue tried to do something different to all of the other malls in Pattaya so visitors can enjoy – or suffer – the weather, depending on your outlook. Shops here have stayed open because of their good quality, reasonable prices, unique wares or a combination of the three. There are a number of boutique stores, mobile phone accessory stands, several restaurants, a Villa Supermarket, a cinema and bowling alley, a reputable real estate agency and a small collection of branded outlet stores such as Adidas and Reebok, with massive savings to be found. 10Tuk.Com IT Center Pattaya0
- Opening Hours: 10:00 – 23:00. Cinema open until late
- Location: Pattaya Second Road, South Pattaya
This eight-floor mall is crammed with small stands and stores selling anything electrical you can think of. There is a small outlet belonging to the Thai electrical chain PowerBuy, but its range of wares is dwarfed by the smaller businesses selling digital cameras and related equipment, in-car electronics, computers and computer peripherals, software, games consoles, mobile phones, tablet computers, stereo systems, televisions, CCTV systems and more. The entire second floor alone is just mobile phones and accessories while the higher floors specialise in copied DVDs and software. On the downside, there is limited parking for cars nearby and the prices inside are said to be slightly higher than can be found in Bangkok.
