Pattaya Soi 6

Naughty Nightlife in Pattaya

Pattaya Soi 6 is one of the more notorious parts of the city’s famous nightlife. Sometimes referred to as Soi Yodsak or Soi Half a Dozen, it is one of those parts of Pattaya where very nearly every single establishment is a bar and the girls are very...friendly, let’s say. Almost the whole of the street’s 350-metre length is bathed in the pink neon light generally associated with girlie bars and it is next to impossible for a man to walk more than a handful of steps without hearing the beckoning cry of “hello, handsome man!”

The attractions of Soi 6 are perhaps something of an acquired taste (though not as much as the neighbouring Soi 6/1, where almost every establishment is a ladyboy bar!) as it is a very different place to the more famous Walking Street. For those who have a taste for the naughtier side of Pattaya’s nightlife, we’ve highlighted some of the places to look out for below.

Bars on Soi 6

There are literally dozens of bars on Soi Yodsak, with the vast majority of them being practically identical to each other, making describing them individually largely pointless. Built in shop-houses, the normal pattern is a bright, noisy, pink-neon-lit bar downstairs with a small selection of guestrooms upstairs.

Pattaya Soi 6 is particularly remarkable among the city’s nightlife for the fact that most of the bars open well before it gets dark, generally from around 15:00, but some as early as 11:00. They also have very cheap drinks, with local beers being around 70-85 baht per bottle and lady drinks for 120-150 baht.

Among the Pattaya Soi 6 bars which follow the description above are Butterfly Bar, Horny Bar, Sexy in the City, Quicky Bar, Foxy’s Bar, The Offshore Bar, Route 69 Bar, 3 Angels Bar and dozens of others. The places described below are those which particularly stand out from the crowd.

Dolls seems to be a combination of every different kind of bar available in Pattaya. It’s on Soi Yodsak, so it is naturally a beer bar, but it is enclosed and air conditioned like a go-go bar. Unusually, the walls are glass, so you can see right in from the street. This naturally means that the girls dancing on various small stages around the large bar are usually well-clothed (by go-go bar standards) and don’t do any special shows, making it more like a coyote bar than anything else. Opened in October 2015, the prices for drinks are a little higher than the average for Soi 6, with a bottled Heineken costing 120 baht.

  • Opening Hours: 18:00 – 01:00
  • Location: Beach Road end of the northern side of Soi 6, North Pattaya

Night Wish Bar

Despite being one of the smallest bars on the street, Night Wish is the head of a chain of Soi 6 bars which includes Horny Bar, The Pussy Club, Sexy in the City and Toy Box. They are also the principle organisers behind the annual Soi 6 Weekend Party, held every June. The bar itself is a modest single shop-house-sized open venue with simple décor. It packs a punch where it counts, though, with a first-class sound system, a good choice of beverages, regular themed parties and famously friendly service.

Passion Dance Club

One of extremely few go-go bars on Soi Yodsak, Passion Dance Club is not particularly famous for its dance routines. Its design follows the same pattern as many of the Walking Street establishments, with bench seating down both sides of the central stage, which has five chrome poles and generally that number of girls dancing at any one time. With bottled Heineken at 115 baht and lady drinks at 120 baht, it is one of Pattaya’s cheaper go-gos, but one of the more expensive places on Soi 6.

Pook Bar & Go-Go

Pook is one of the top ladyboy bars in Pattaya and, while that would ordinarily place it on Soi 6/1, the place is so big that it stretches right through to Soi 6 itself. While named as a go-go, it doesn’t even have a front wall or door. Despite this and the fact that the staff of 30 girls are all ladyboys, it remains one of the most popular places on the street. With four wide-screen televisions and three pool tables, it is a fun place to hang out and is known for its great parties.

Queen Victoria Inn

Queen Victoria Inn stands out on Soi 6 because it is not a girlie bar. It is instead a quite faithful recreation of an English pub, serving a wide range of draught beers and ciders as well as excellent pub grub from 08:00 until late. The staff are very friendly and welcoming (but not in the usual Soi Yodsak way) and help to create a nice atmosphere. The Queen Vic is one of the largest and more popular bars on the street and is a haven of peace and normality amid the madness of the rest of the area.

Ruby Club

Located roughly in the middle of Soi 6 on the northern side of the road, Ruby Club one of the larger venues. It has a couple of big-screen televisions and a friendly atmosphere, making it also quite a nice place to just hang out and have a few drinks. It is also sometimes described as more of a sports bar - certainly more so than anywhere else on the street!

Scooter’s Bar Soi 6

The Scooter’s brand has three places around Pattaya, in Soi Buakhao, Soi LK Metro and, of course, Soi 6. The emphasis is on having a great night out, with the staff being friendly and fun but with a ‘no pressure’ attitude, meaning that you won’t be expected to buy a lady drink within seconds of sitting down. Unsurprisingly, the brand has a 1960s Mods theme, both in terms of the décor and the music, which is mostly Ska, Disco, Motown and Northern Soul.
