Jomtien Beach Restaurants

Where and What to Eat in Jomtien Beach

Jomtien Beach restaurants are mostly no-frills expatriate-run restaurants and bars, with budget Thai dishes being joined on the menu by European cuisine - particularly British, German and Russian. Some of the best food is to be had on the beach, while lazing on the tightly-packed deck chairs under a canopy of umbrellas. Vendors bring first-rate Thai snacks right to your picnic table, which are invariably cheap and delicious and come with the best sea view in the area.

Further north, along Thappraya Road (which connects Jomtien Beach to Phratamnak and South Pattaya), are some of the finest restaurants in Jomtien Beach, if not the whole city, where the cuisine includes offerings from France, Switzerland, India, Italy, China, Holland, Mexico and others.

Mae Sri Ruen

Mae Sri Ruen started out as a simple noodle restaurant in Pattaya, but has now grown to a national brand with more than 20 restaurants here and in Bangkok. It is best known for its cheap but tasty chicken noodles, either stir-fried or in soup, starting from just 45 baht. This particular restaurant, which is right next to the Outlet Shopping Mall at the corner between Sukhumvit Road and Thepprasit Road, is the best known branch. Rimpa Lapin

The food at this out-of-the-way eatery is certainly good, but it is not the star attraction. The cliff-top location offers an unrivalled view along the Jomtien coastline and a cooling sea breeze, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The restaurant is a little more Thai-centric than most of the other entries in our list of the 10 Best Thai Restaurants in Pattaya, which does make it a more authentic experience, but could also make ordering a little tricky. The view more than justifies a few minutes of awkwardness while the friendly staff help you out, though.
