The Hard Rock brand is synonymous with classic rock tunes and belly filling Tex-Mex food, and that’s exactly what you get at Hard Rock Café Pattaya. From the guitar shaped sign that blinks overhead as you arrive, to the rock memorabilia on the walls and the keyboard styled bar, Hard Rock Café delivers an unmistakable slice of Americana to the heart of Pattaya Bay. In the daytime, there is a pool next to the café that day visitors are permitted to use for a fee, and at night, the café comes alive with the sounds of Asia’s premier rock cover bands. Located prominently on Beach Road, in between Soi 6 and 7, Hard Rock Café is centrally located and is unmissable thanks to the giant guitar head stretching out over the restaurant.

Hard Rock Hotel is a great place to hang out in the daytime if you are looking for a relaxed poolside environment as they have a number of shaded cabanas for hire, and activities like super-sized Jenga and pool volleyball. They also have large scale events taking place in the courtyard in front of Hard Rock Café. Every Saturday, Hard Rock Café is home to famous Beach Foam X parties, when the entire pool area is cordoned off and pumped full of foam for a raucous party from 21:30 onwards. It costs 480 baht with one free drink. To cater for the younger crowd, a Family Foam party is open from 17:00 to 18:00 and costs 350 baht for kids and 450 for accompanying adults. Also, every first Sunday of the month an event takes place called Plastic Fantastic, which includes world renowned DJs playing a mixture of hip hop, dance and electro tunes to a hip party crowd.
Inside the bar, there is a mixture of high tables and stools for drinkers, dining tables beneath the stage, and a kitsch stained glass window depicting an Elvis Presley scene. Hard Rock Café in Pattaya is a great place to grab a bite of American fare as the menu is a tried and tested combination of Western favourites including Hard Rock’s legendary burgers, smokehouse sandwiches and their substantial hickory smoked bar-b-que combo, which is a massive portion of ribs, chicken and pork. They also have a sizeable menu of bar room snacks including nachos and potato skins.
From 21:30, six nights a week, the amps get ramped up to 10 and the band starts playing through a fairly predictable but very enjoyable set of rock standards that gets everyone singing along and more than a few up on their feet and dancing. The bands that play at Hard Rock Pattaya are on a rotation with other Hard Rock venues around Asia, including Bali, Bangkok and Penang, so they really are technically gifted musicians and well worth staying to listen to. Live music is scheduled every night of the week accept Tuesday.
It wouldn’t be a Hard Rock Café without the ubiquitous gift shop and here you can pick up the famous logo emblazoned on T-shirts, sweaters, mugs and key rings. They make a great memento of your stay or some simple gifts for friends back home.
