Bali Hai Pier Pattaya

Central Pier in Pattaya

Bali Hai Pier - commonly known as Pattaya Pier - is a central feature of the city, located at the end of Walking Street, near the southernmost point of Pattaya Bay. It is a hive of activity, with endless day-trippers on the way to the nearby Coral Island (Koh Larn), as well as scuba divers, fishing enthusiasts and even private charter boat trips. The jetty stretches quite far out into the bay and is lined on either side with boats of all descriptions. It can be seen clearly from Pattaya View Point and has now become a classic image of Pattaya itself.

Many hotels offer to arrange tours on behalf of their guests but there are still many tour operators lining the main entrance into the pier, where anyone can book a tour or trip. Ferries across to Koh Larn remain the most common reason for visiting Bali Hai Pier with one way tickets starting from 30 baht (depending on which beach you want to visit). For speed and convenience you can also travel to Koh Larn by speedboat for 2000 baht to 3000 baht, split between passengers. If you want to charter a boat for a fishing trip or a day of island hopping then obviously it will take some negotiating as prices vary depending on length of trip, number of passengers and extras such as meals or equipment. We recommend heading down the day before to arrange any private trips.

At night the giant Pattaya sign lights up in multi-coloured neon just above Bali Hai Pier, and travellers keep arriving to take the shuttle boat out to the several floating restaurants that are anchored in the bay and to enjoy the world-class nightlife in Bali Hai Plaza. Inside this three level entertainment complex there are two clubs and a cafe. Mixx Nightclub occupies the entire top floor with two dance rooms; a mix of party pop and R’n’B in the main room and house music in the other. On the ground floor you will find a Starbucks Cafe and Lima Lima, a combined lounge and club where guests can relax with a shisha pipe and cocktail before hitting the dance floor into the early hours.
