Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

Authors' Suite

Situated in the original Oriental Hotel building, The Authors' Wing celebrates some of the great writers who have stayed here over the last century. All have lavish bedrooms and lounge areas, dressing rooms and Victorian style bathrooms.

The four suites are individually designed to reflect the Author’s distinguished personality. Fresh flowers and fruit are delivered to your suite daily, and you have the services of your own personal butler.

Approximately 100 square metres/1075 square feet.

Joseph Conrad

The worldly elegance of a curtain-draped four-poster bed, carefully selected furniture and warm, tasteful décor blend together to capture an air of gentle sophistication while the refined living room opens up to a spacious terrace overlooking the tropical gardens. This is the kind of luxury you would expect from The Oriental, Bangkok's premier suite; it honours one of our earliest and most illustrious guests.

Somerset Maugham

Deep, rich colours and ornately carved traditional four-poster beds, along with exquisitely crafted furnishings reflect the splendour and richness of Thailand that so fascinated Somerset Maugham. The ambience of opulence is matched by an elegance, highly appreciated by the playwright and novelist.

Noel Coward

The suite is a pure reflection of this legendary dramatist's striking personality. Beyond the understated elegance of the arched doorway unfolds an enticing combination of style and flare. Its elegant setting provides the perfect backdrop for gentle flashes of brilliant colour.

James Michener

Here is the essence of international luxury, with the soothing qualities of space and light complementing a subtly modern setting. The delicate colours produce a sense of intimacy, while the rich textures hint at the suite's grandeur. It embodies the worldliness of this well-travelled and respected novelist.
