Set in an old wooden Chinese shop-house built during the reign of King Rama IV in 1869, Niras Bankoc features a delightful ambience reminiscent of a bygone era. The hostel is steps away from the Giant Swing and surrounded by a host of historical attractions in the Old City, including the Golden Mount, Baan Bat (monks’ alms bowl making village) and, slightly farther away, the Grand Palace, Temple of the Emerald Buddha and Wat Pho.
The seven guestrooms at Niras Bankoc offer period-style interiors, with old teakwood floor and modern amenities. Rooms come with a choice of ensuite bathrooms, shared bathrooms or dormitory-style with two bunk beds and individual lockers. Other facilities include a café serving gourmet coffees, 24-hour reception, travel and tour information desk, free wireless internet access, basic business service, common room with satellite television, DVD player, movies, and a garden terrace for relaxing.
