On the second floor of Sphinx, Pharoah's Music Bar is the reigning karaoke bar 'empress' in the Silom area. The space is cleverly divided into two large sections; a bar area with a small stage and a private lounge. Veteran singers and trained divas showcase their vocal virtuosity in the bar area. The less confident wannabe's will be better off in a private lounge where you can always hide behind your sofa or blame whoever sitting next to you for failing to hit certain notes. Possibly the first and only 'bear' pub in town, now all the 'pooh-bears' and their fans can belt out favourite tunes while tasting honey at the same time. With the 'Happy Hour' (17:30 to 20:00) to be taken advantage of and the cheapest food in the soi, the Balcony is gaining constant popularity among both Thais and foreign visitors. Seating area outside is a great place to watch the action and detect meaningful stares around you. There are lots of tables inside too if you're feeling reclusive. There's also mini karaoke and a small Internet cafe upstairs. The ever-smiling staff are omnipresent, charming and helpful. An ideal place to begin your nocturnal (gay) adventure.

One of the oldest gay pubs in Bangkok, Telephone Pub is located right opposite Balcony Bar. The outdoor seating area is quite similar to Balcony's, but the second floor of is somewhat more restaurant-like. The food served there is a mix of popular Thai and western dishes. If you're feeling too sober, Telephone Pub's jugs of powerful margaritas can change that very quickly. Flirtation with strangers is highly advisable. In fact, each table even used to have a telephone, from where patrons could call someone at another table to, well, compliment him on his new hairstyle.

Owned by the eponymous ex-Telephone owner Richard and associates, @Richard's offers a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, 70's music at a volume you can talk (or gossip) over great Thai and international dishes and drinks at reasonable prices. Fun and exciting events and activities are held regularly including the Long Yang Club Thailand group on every second Friday of the month, and a Game Night every Wednesday night. Private parties can be arranged at the 'loft' on the upper area.
