Bangkok’s winter beer garden at Central World runs from the beginning of November through to January every year, taking advantage of the cooler temperatures and festivities during the build up to Christmas and New Year. The event uses the huge space in front of Central World mall, with multiple sponsored sections offering alfresco seating, live music stages and lot and lots of beer.
This year’s (2015) beer garden sees domestic brands Chang and Singha as well as Dutch giants Heineken (who also actually brew in Thailand) set up their own areas. It’s free to get in every day, and each one has a busy timetable of live performances with some of the biggest artists in Thailand playing across two months.

The Heineken Space
Probably the most impressive of the lot, Heineken is difficult to miss with its bold green and white branding, huge stage and throbbing house/lounge soundtrack in between live sets. Due to its popularity, expect to wait for a table if you arrive later in the evening. They have local artists performing every night, and you can book your spot through www.heineken.com/heinekenspace. Heineken are also setting up similar (but smaller) beers gardens around Bangkok in December, including at Siam Paragon, Esplanade Ratchada and EmQuartier. Beer is 600 baht for a tower.
Singha Beer Park
For the most eclectic musical lineup at this year’s winter beer festival, look no further than the Singha Beer Park. The seating and lighting might not be as flashy as the Heineken next door, but prices are slightly cheaper and they have booked in some interesting acts, from pop stars to country singers and legendary folk bands. Lomosonic are set to play on New Year’s Eve.
Chang Live Park
Thailand’s most famous brand of beer has booked in some of the county’s most famous singers and bands, with super-group Paradox set to play on Dec 01, as well as Potato (Dec 10) and The Voice judge Joey Boy on Dec 22. Chang boasts the largest space at Central World’s beer garden, with an additional smaller section with an acoustic stage (great if you actually want to talk with the person next to you). Stay up-to-date with their events at fb.com/changbeer.
