Offering a refined menu of classic international dishes, cooked ‘a la minute’, the Tables Sunday brunch is the best opportunity for visitors to try a little bit of everything the restaurant has to offer, including a comprehensive range of meat, seafood, pasta...and a whole room dedicated to dessert. To keep everyone in a lively mood throughout brunch there is a free-flow Moet Chandon champagne package, on top of the usual wines, beers and cocktails offered at other five-star brunches. For such a sophisticated and unique dining experience, the price is great value at 3,000++ baht per person with the option of 999++ baht additional fee for free-flow fizz. Open from 11:00 to 15:00, Tables Grill Restaurant is located on the corner of Ploenchit and Ratchadamri Road and is easily accessed by BTS stations at Chit Lom or Ratchadamri.

  • Tables Grill spans the entirety of the mezzanine level overlooking the entrance to the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. It is delightfully laid out and belies the expansive space with a subtle use of partitions, soft lighting and well spaced out tables. The result is an intimate experience that suits a romantic meal, or private family time. For larger groups there are also two private dining rooms designed to seat 12 and 32 people that can be booked in advance. Upon entry to the restaurant, a three-piece band plays smooth jazz standards as immaculately dressed staff lead you to your table.

    Due to the range of food on offer, it is recommended to take your time exploring the many cooking stations and buffet stands before you begin: cold cuts with cantaloupe melon, several hard and soft cheeses, a staffed salad station and an impressive seafood area are all popular for the first trip. The seafood station in particular sees a steady flow of traffic thanks to the large, shelled tiger prawns, two types of oysters in the half shell, Norwegian smoked salmon and a variety of tapas dishes such as seared tuna and poached sea bass with cauliflower foam. Of course, the whole concept of Tables Grill is the fresh tableside dining with a la minute offerings including foie gras, champagne risotto, pan fried king prawns in a choice of either garlic butter or Thai style mango dressing, succulent roast beef, a fantastic lobster bisque and crepes Suzette.

    In addition to the range of 'cooked to order' dishes, each diner is served one-half of a red Boston lobster Thermidor. The staff will ask you when you would prefer it and it will be prepared fresh for every table. The lobster is of average size but the taste is succulent and shelled for convenience.

    The food here is very European, authentically rich and creamy, with little attempt to cater to other regional world cuisines. As for standout options, our personal favourites include the Bayonne cured ham with sweet melon, freshly cut smoked salmon, pink and tender roast beef, served with new potatoes and a rich red wine-based gravy, and a truly outstanding lobster bisque, made with lobster claw, shrimp and flambéd with a touch of cognac. The lychee iced tea is also delicious, made with globes of fresh fruit to sweeten the tea, for a refreshing palate cleanser.

    After all this you could be forgiven for feeling content, but that would be forgetting the dedicated dessert room at Tables Grill, which must be the most comprehensive collection of European puddings, mousses and cakes in Bangkok. The tiramisu is rich and creamy in equal measure, and the cherry jubilee is freshly prepared with a sugar reduction mixed with vivid whole red cherries and topped with a homemade vanilla ice-cream specked with vanilla pods – to say this dish is sweet is an understatement, but it is certainly tasty. Tables Grill at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel is one of the busiest Sunday Brunches in Bangkok and for good measure: fantastic service, premium ingredients and authentic European cuisine – it’s a straightforward strategy that works.
