Roof Hideaway is one of the best chill out spots on Thonglor’s popular ‘Soi 10’, sitting on top of Muse Nightclub. This large open-air bar is split over two levels, with the upstairs section presenting some nice street views, and the larger downstairs area offering more of a restaurant-vibe, along with a long menu of Thai/Asian-fusion food and a live band every night
Mixologist Neung Ronnaporn – winner of the Diageo Reserve World Class Thailand finals in 2014 – has also worked with Muse and Roof Hideaway as a consultant to create an exciting menu of cocktails; look out for their signature ‘Muse Obsession’ or the ‘Hideaway Laboratory’ to kick start your night in style.

The food menu here is long, meaning there is enough room western, Thai and some interesting Asian-fusion dishes. For the less adventurous, there’s offerings such as Spaghetti Carbonara, Baby Back Ribs or the hefty Pork Chop. What got us more excited however, was their crossover dishes. For example, the ‘Kung Wasabi’ (deep fried shrimp in a sweet sauce with wasabi) is an interesting mix of Japanese, Thai and Chinese, while their Beef Wagyu tastes as good as it looks, with the chunks of succulent steak coming with a zesty Asian marinade – at under 300 baht, it’s pretty good value too.
Roof Hideaway’s classic Thai dishes are enjoyable too, our favourite being the crispy pork belly with chili jam and Thai basil (a slightly modified version of pad krapow moo). Also recommended is the grilled pork with spicy dip (moo yang), pakboong with spicy salad, and sticky mango with rice is also on the menu – never a bad thing in our books. Most dishes here are in the 250-600 baht price range.

Located on Thonglor Soi 10, Muse Club down below and Roof Hideaway upstairs used to be only reserved for the young, affluent locals. However, with expats and foreign visitors gradually starting to migrate from lower Sukhumvit towards this more upscale nightlife playground, you certainly won’t feel out of place.
Find the Muse complex located in the middle of Thonglor Soi 10 (you can also access it by coming up Ekkamai Road then turning left into ‘Ekkamai Soi 5’). The club is located on the ground floor, and to find the rooftop (Roof Hideaway), take the elevator up to the top to find the spacious open air bar. Open from 18:00 daily, a live acoustic band normally take to the stage playing Thai and English covers every night.
