Qup is currently closed.
Qup is one of the top clubs for house music in Bangkok, set on an open-air terrace on the second floor of the now defunct Q Bar. This club only has a small dance floor but it’s usually packed, and has retained the socialite crowd its predecessor was famous for – all attracted by the club’s dedication to quality dance music seven days a week. The crowd is usually more on the side of dressed up expats and in-the-know tourists as this is the place on Sukhumvit Soi 11 for fans of funky, vocal house that gets skirts twirling and still delivers the bass.

Seating options in Qup range from secluded sofas and tables around the perimeter (where you’ll still be able to chat), as well as some standing tables and bar stools for those wanting to dance but still have a place to rest their drinks. Dotted around the room are small palm trees, and thanks to the subtle but impressive lighting and the al fresco setting, it feels a bit like a cool beach club rather than a downtown Bangkok club.
Qup is open every day (22:00 – 02:00); on weekends it can be a good idea to get there early to get your pick of the seats or standing tables, but midweek the place doesn’t start rocking until closer to midnight. The standard 250 baht cover charge at Qup is returned to you in drinks tickets so its actually free but everyone is required to buy a drink. Once a month an international DJ performs at Qup so you can expect to pay more on these nights, but they are well advertised. Keep in mind every Sunday the music changes to soulful R'n'B and hip hop, while on Wednesdays there is a ladies night with three drinks for ladies before midnight and a jacking, ghetto house soundtrack.
The closest BTS station is Nana, as Soi 11 is at the base of the sky train steps – from there you can walk or take a taxi. From Sukhumvit Road, follow Soi 11 until the road turns left. Qup Bangkok (and the whole complex that used to be Q Bar is 15 metres down on your right. If in doubt, just ask a local for ‘Q Bar’.
