Proud Market Bangkok

Night Market near RCA

The Proud Market is an excellent addition to Bangkok night markets, offering an interesting selection of food, shopping and entertainment. The range of street food is the real highlight, with a broad selection of wallet-friendly noodle dishes, kebab sticks and freshly prepared Thai curries, along with fancier dishes like fresh crabs, steaks and racks of ribs; there’s even an oyster bar. In fact, the seafood here is brought directly from Surat Thani province daily so you know it's fresh.

Several stalls offer a menu of fusion dishes, such as mini pizza and Korean-style shaved ice desserts, which are a big hit with local Bangkokians. The range of snacks and treats on offer make it really fun to browse the stalls and snack slowly through the night (although, if you’re really hungry, you could just sit down and enjoy a monstrous 1-metre rack of pork ribs).

What to Buy at The Proud Market RCA Bangkok

Casual fashion items seem to be most popular, with printed T-shirts of all styles, along with footwear and sunglasses. It’s also a good spot for ladies’ beauty products, like trendy contact lenses, nail polish and hair products. If you fancy getting a haircut, there’s a barbershop set up in the fashion zone of the night market.

Thanks to a row of bars towards the far end of The Proud Market, this is the perfect spot for a few pre-drinks before you hit the clubs nearby. The largest bar has live acoustic bands playing, with a pool table and friendly waitresses willing to play a frame or two, in case you’re feeling competitive. The bars also have a second floor, so you and your friends can grab yourself some drinks and snacks and get a bird’s eye view over the market.

It’s easy to find the Proud Market on an open plot of land next to the Rama 9 Road entrance to famous party zone, RCA (Royal City Avenue), and although it’s open from 17:00, it’s best to come from around 19:00 so that all the stalls are open and the market is at its bustling best. It closes around 01:00.
