If shopping is high on your list of things to do whilst you are in Bangkok, Novotel Platinum’s location won’t disappoint. You can walk to some of the greatest malls in the city, including CentralWorld, Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery with MBK only a few stops away by BTS. Also in this area you will find Siam Square, a warren of out-of-the-ordinary shops offering a wide variety of goods, from up and coming designer boutiques to rails of bargain dresses and costume jewellery. A direct escalator takes you down into Platinum Mall, the air-conditioned version of the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market with over 1,300 shops.

Rooms

Novotel Platinum has four different room types and all of them include free Wi-Fi, a desk, flat-screen satellite TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. The superior room is spacious, a subdued palate of cream and ‘nude’ shades with either a large double bed or twin, as well as the possibility of a sofa bed. For those travelling with family, Novotel has a room designed with enough space for two adults and two children. If you are looking for something special, then upgrade to the executive rooms which afford you access to the Premier lounge, where they serve breakfast and evening cocktails whilst you enjoy a great view of Bangkok.

Restaurants and Bars

The Square Restaurant serves buffet dining offering a wide range of Thai and International dishes and is open from 06:00 until 22:00. The sleek modern feel of the dining area is complemented by the intriguing lights and wall designs, all created out of fishing baskets especially for this hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing drink after a day of exploring head to either the Platinum Bar on the 6th floor where you can have a casual drink whilst enjoying some live music, or head up to the Pool Bar where the barman will mix you a cocktail or squeeze you some fresh juice whilst you enjoy the sun setting over the city.

Novotel Platinum is great for:

• Location for shopping, right above Platinum and close to CentralWorld and Siam
• Personal shopper who will also collect your purchases from Platinum Mall
• Large fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment and complimentary exercise classes
• Outdoor Pool with a great view and sundeck
• Kids’ Club and babysitting available

Not so great for:

• This being Bangkok, there is sometimes bad traffic around the junction where the hotel is located
