MYTH Massage Studio Bangkok

Thai massage in Ploenchit

MYTH Massage Studio offers professional Thai massage using their own brand organic oils and a relaxing ‘neighbourhood’ vibe. It is recommended for a mid-range treatment in the Ploenchit area of downtown Bangkok, perfect for anyone who wants a bit more sophistication than a roadside massage shop, but without the cost of a fancy hotel spa treatment.

Here you will find a private massage studio that is tucked away in a neat, red brick house on Soi Ruam Rudee – walking distance from Ploenchit BTS Skytrain Station. It’s an experience a million miles away from the typical street side massage shops with a gaggle of girls hanging outside calling for custom. The menu is brief with only 10 options to choose from, and you can choose organic or non-organic massage oil and pay a 50 baht surcharge for the use of organic oils.

The organic oils in question were developed by Myth massage Bangkok personally and have been USDA certified. This is more than a business for the team at Myth, and they have worked hard to ensure 95% of the herbs used are locally sourced from sustainable farms. At present all oils are unscented and leave the skin feeling hydrated and supple.

Massages are available as 30, 50, 120, or 180 minute treatments, held in private rooms unless you are a couple and you can share a double room. The masseuse will ask you preferences on which areas to focus on or avoid, how much pressure you would like and any existing ailments you might have.

Specialised massage beds have space for your face to rest naturally in a straight position so there is no stress on your neck, and when you are face up a mask will be applied to your face so you can thoroughly relax. This is certainly on of the most relaxing treatments we have experienced, particularly considering the price range. Massages start from 200 baht, rising to 2,500 baht for the signature 110 minute four-hands oil massage. An 80 minute Thai massage costs 550 baht.

There is the option of music during your massage, although we prefer no music as it allows you to really drift into that relaxed state where the body and mind truly relaxes.

The reception area is tastefully decked out with teak wood floors and a range of hand woven clothes produced by villagers from a small social enterprise in the Ubon Ratchathani province of Thailand – all of which are for sale. Pick up a tasteful sarong-type fabric which can be worn in a range of styles (ask the receptionists who will be only too pleased to show you the different ways to wear it), or some blouses and shirts that have a rural, hippy style which is a perfect gift for loved ones back home.

Pioneering this type of mid-range massage shop, Myth massage Bangkok is clean, relaxing and great quality. Five-star hotels are restrictedly expensive for some, so this is a great option that offers the same level of customer service, experienced masseuses but at a far cheaper price than a typical high-end spa.
