  • Live Music Nights at Trader Vics’s Bangkok

Jazz, Blues, Soul and more at Anantara Riverside Bangkok

    0

Trader Vic’s at Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa has just launched a nightly line-up of music events, welcoming some of Bangkok’s best blues, jazz, salsa and soul bands to their stage. Combine this with some irresistible food, even more irresistible drinks promotions (such as free flow sparkling wine for the ladies on Wednesdays) - all against the backdrop of the Chao Phraya River, and you have yourself one of the most exciting new live music scenes in Bangkok.

Launched in August 2014, Trader Vic’s has set its benchmark high, with the aim of becoming the ‘new hub of live music in Bangkok’. With the likes of ‘Chai and the Blues Maniacs’ – a band who have already made a name for themselves across town at Maggie Choo’s and the famous Saxophone Pub at Victory monument – as well as a Beatles night on Thursday and Salsa Mondays, all the ingredients seem to be in place for Trader Vic’s to realise their ambition.

  • The whole line-up at this much-loved Polynesian-themed bar is bursting with great bands and rather tempting drinks promos to go hand-in-hand with the feel good vibe every night. Here’s the full bill:

Mondays: Stormy Mondays - Big Boy Benz on strings with the best of Mississippi and the Deep South Blues. 50% off the bar menu and drinks, or try thier special Creole-style baked shrimps & crabs (599 baht) 19:30-23:30

Tuesdays: Jazz Night – The renowned Mahidol University band including ‘Piak Yajit with William and Friends’ take to the stage for some rather sophisticated jazz, together with a 999 baht special for bottomless red, white and sparkling wine with cheese and cold cuts. 19:30-23:00

Wednesdays: Ladies Night – the fabulous Chai and the Blues Maniacs belt out some sumptuous R&B, Motown and Soul. Free-flow sparkling wine for the ladies all night and guys can get unlimited vodka and gin Martinis and Manhattans for 799 baht. 20:00-midnight

Thursdays: Beatles Tribute Night – The Beatlenuts – play classics all night long from Liverpool’s best-loved band. A BBQ & Salad Bar is available for 599 baht and 799 baht gets everybody unlimited beers, gins, vodka martinis or manhattans. 20:30-00:30

Fridays: ‘Frisky Friday’ presents Chai and the Blues Maniacs, guaranteed to wow the crowd with their soul, Motown and R&B covers. Pacific Rim BBQ Platter for 599 baht and “all you can drink” Margaritas 799 baht. 20:30-00:30

Saturdays: Funk, bebop and modern jazz with the ever-talented Neung Jakkawal who covers any shout-out – if he knows it (and he probably does). 50% off the Bar Menu and selected cocktails! 20:00-00:30

Sunday: Jazzy Brunch by the Riverside – More sumptuous jazz from Khun Chai accompanies Trader Vic’s famous seafood brunch by the majestic Chao Phraya River. 11:30-15:00

(Prices quoted exclude 10% service charge and 7% tax)
