  • MoMo Café at Marriott Courtyard Hotel

Great Value Restaurant near Chit Lom and Siam

    0

MoMo Café at Marriott Courtyard Hotel is a great find in downtown Bangkok, combining expertly prepared food with great value and personable service. Occupying a massive space, this restaurant feels very much like a hotel establishment, with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout – but without the inflated prices usually associated with hotel restaurants.

Come here to try the impressive a la carte menu of western and Thai-with-a-twist dishes, Quick Lunch Sets from 11:00 to 15:30, or even their sizable lunch or dinner buffets.

  • On top of this, MoMo Café has what we believe to be some of the best weekly deals in Bangkok: on Tuesdays, they offer four hours (18:00 to 22:00) of free-flow beers and barbeque for 450 baht. With a choice of Asahi or Chang draft beer and freshly cooked chicken, pork and beef skewers, this deal is almost too good to be true.

While on Fridays, there is a seafood and steak buffet with premium quality produce offered at a discount price. Located just three minutes’ walk from Rathcadamri BTS Skytrain Station and surrounded by other top hotels, MoMo Café in Bangkok offers far better value than other restaurants in the area.

As already mentioned, this is a large restaurant, but a clever design with different seating areas, contemporary furnishings, and very friendly service add a real charm to the place. The colour scheme is a snazzy combination of green and grey with touches of pale wood, and guests also have the option of sitting outside on wooden decking – large parasols and a modern water feature make this a cool spot for dinner and a few drinks.

The open kitchen design at MoMo Cafe also helps to bring the personal touch to a meal here, but most importantly the food served from the open kitchen is very impressive.

A la carte offerings include a fresh and fruity prawn and avocado salad (280 baht), with crushed pomelo, lemon rind and sesame vinaigrette this is among the most flavoursome salads we’ve ever tried. For something more substantial we can’t look past the Australian lamb rack (820 baht), served on the bone with a rich red wine jus, mashed potato and blanched asparagus.

The MoMo Roasted Chicken is another highlight: at only 340 baht it served as a half chicken gently crisped on the skin with succulent meat inside. The mushroom dipping sauce is enhanced with a hop-like beer taste and matches the soft chicken perfectly.

This level of hotel restaurant dining is rarely prepared as well as the menu at MoMo Café at Marriot Courtyard Hotel, and when you consider the cost we think you’ll agree this restaurant is a great find for anyone in the area.
