Giorgio’s Restaurant at Sheraton Orchid Hotel
Riverside Italian Restaurant in Bangkok0
Giorgio’s is a classic Italian Restaurant with views overlooking Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River. Located on the first floor of the luxurious Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, you can expect delicious Italian fare, refined service and romantic views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. As one of the first true Italian restaurants in Bangkok, Giorgio’s carries with it a certain pedigree and you can expect dishes made in a time honoured tradition with imported ingredients and artistic presentation.
To reach Giorgio’s, we advise you to take the free Sheraton Orchid converted rice barge that ferries guests from Sathorn Pier in front of Saphan Taksin BTS Station. The journey is a fantastic experience in itself, with plush leather seats and attendants handing out fresh towels and refreshments. You will disembark at the hotel’s own private jetty, which is both romantic and sophisticated.Read More

Giorgio’s is open for dinner from 18:00 to 22:30 every night and guests have the choice of the a la carte menu or the excellent value buffet with freshly cooked main dish for 750 baht (not including tax or service charge). The buffet selection changes every day with three variations, each including a section of delicious antipasti ingredients, fresh salad, and a seafood island containing various shrimp, mussels, tuna tartar and several other shellfish delicacies. There is cheese fondue section and the dessert station is also expansive with the tiramisu, lemon meringue and signature macaroons being our unanimous favourites. Buffet servings are bite sized so you can sample multiple items and you can return as many times as your appetite allows.
As for the mains, stand out selections include a pan fried fillet of succulent snow fish, laid on a bed of soft mash potato, asparagus and rich cherry tomato. It’s a dish loaded with taste and is unmistakably Mediterranean. For cheese lovers we recommend the cannelloni; overflowing with melted cheese, the al dente pasta is wrapped around blanched spinach that goes spectacularly with an Italian red from Giorgio’s cellar. The grilled beef tenderloin with black truffle sauce is also a traditional favourite, expertly prepared, the fist-sized fillet comes with a Mediterranean vegetable medley consisting of peppers, aubergine and tomato. The truffle is liberally applied for a strength of flavour akin to anything you might taste on Italy’s southern coast.
Guests can also choose to dine al fresco on the sizeable terrace overlooking the river, or even take an after dinner cocktail or traditional grappa outside while enjoying the scenic river views. From the cocktail menu, our eyes were drawn to the inventive signature list that takes inspiration from around the world, with a Brazilian cachaca, strawberry, lychee and lime concoction called ‘nearing the tropics’ being a popular option for ladies and Sheraton’s own Sheraton Delight also impressing us: rum, Galliano, mango, lime and pineapple. Giorgio’s is a charming restaurant that serves tried and tested Italian classics and achieves an excellent balance between formal and funky.
