On the corner of Silom Road you will find one of Bangkok’s landmarks, the famous Dusit Thani Hotel, which offers a special brand of luxury and relaxation in the heart of the city. Opened over 40 years ago it has been delighting visitors with great service and hospitality, in close proximity to both sky train and subway.
All 517 rooms have a Thai twist to them, touches of Thai silk, teak wood and orchids. Although the rooms have a traditional feel to them, they have incorporated modern amenities for both business and leisure guests including complimentary internet in all rooms and Wi-Fi in public areas, flat-screen LCD TV, and bedside controls for the air-conditioner and blackout curtains. If given a choice, the rooms with the best views are those overlooking Lumpini Park, which is only a couple of minute’s walk from the hotel. For a special treat book into the Thai Heritage Suites. Stepping through the door is like stepping back in time. Instead of the usual pale palette of colours favoured by Dusit Thani, there is a strong flavour of Thailand’s days gone by, wood-lined rooms and ornately decorated furniture.

The club lounge and business centre have recently been upgraded, and provides personal butler service, late check-out, all-day snacks and drinks and use of the fitness centre. Although smartly decorated in modern Thai style, the club is perfect space to relax or catch up with work. The octagonal swimming pool is set in an attractive courtyard with plenty of blue and white striped sun loungers. At DFiT gym you will find state of the art equipment and squash courts, with staff on hand for personal training and to provide exercise classes including aerobics, tai chi and yoga. For those who prefer to take their chill-out time lying down, Dusit Thani’s Devarana Spa offers a wide variety of treatments inspired by the centuries old practice of Thai therapeutic massage.
There are enough restaurant choices at the Dusit Thani Bangkok that you won’t feel the need to leave the building. On the ground floor The Pavilion serves a range of dishes from around the globe at breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. There are also restaurants serving delights from China, Vietnam, Japan as well as a New York style steakhouse. If you want to dine with a view then D’Sens on the top floor offers an impressive panorama of the park and Silom Road, as well as serving Michelin standard French food. Il cielo Italian restaurant provides an amazing antipasti buffet with their lunch deal (all Dusit Thani Bangkok restaurants have fantastic business lunch offers). Given their impressive dedication to all things Thai it is not surprising that at their Benjarong restaurant you can enjoy some of the country’s delicious specialities, with an alfresco terrace overlooking the hotel’s waterfall.
