Button Up is a luxury tailors and fashion brand based in Bangkok which can claim celebrity A-Listers as customers. American rapper Snoop Dogg and teen-drama 90210 actor Matt Lanter are both customers along with the cream of Bangkok’s glitterati. In fact, the team at Button Up worked as stylists for Snoop Dogg’s music video No Guns Allowed.
Along with the flagship store in the fashionable Thong Lor area of Sukhumvit, Button Up has eight separate branches spread throughout the top shopping malls in the city. Siam Paragon and Central Chit Lom both have off-the-rack shirts and apparel for sale starting from 2,000 baht, but for bespoke tailoring and refined service you must visit their stand-alone store next to Thong Lor Soi 5.

Truly, the quality and personalised touches that go into a shirt at Button Up are unmatched by any other tailor in Bangkok. A minimum 20 stitches-per-inch go into every piece and their range of fashionable shirts created fresh for each season offer a level of glamour that will really make you to stand out from the crowd. Recent seasonal ranges have included shirts inspired by tuxedo pleats and bold two-tone, asymmetrical designs.
All shirts are handmade in house with three cuts to choose from: classic, slim and casual, and an incredible 18 choices of collar. The biggest sellers here however are their 28 choices of plain colours, and even these are something special with Button Up’s very own signature hues with a silk finish so you can be assured that even a fitted white shirt will turn heads. Prices for tailored shirts are dependent on the fabric and level of personalisation but expect to pay from 2,000 baht to 4,000 baht, and rather more for Thomas Mason fabric.
Button Up also creates a range of suits in classic styles and more daring modern interpretations. Prices start from 9,980 baht (tuxedos from 14,000 baht) although the price quickly increases for imported looms from the most esteemed mills in the world. Those who want the very finest fabrics from Loro Piana can expect to pay 48,000 baht (still incredibly good value when compared to European tailors). Button Up actually collaborated with Loro Piana for a special one-off show with representatives flying from Italy especially and is proof of their standing in the world of fashion.
Among their more daring suit jackets on our last visit was a glossy black jacket with embossed patterns to imitate lapels, a royal blue on black tuxedo and a series of jackets with geometric patterns from their Go Signature range. Gentlemen’s apparel is also on offer here with 50 choices of cufflinks, Italian silk ties and bow ties, all very competitively priced with cufflinks starting from 680 baht.
The fitting room at Button Up’s flagship store is hidden behind a bookcase and imitates a gentlemen’s den. Smooth jazz is piped in through hidden speakers and there are 360 degree floor-to-ceiling mirrors. It’s a charming space that, along with the personalised attention of staff, creates a fantastic experience for sophisticated gents who expect top quality service as part of the package.
If you haven’t time for a tailored creation you can still pick up a Button Up shirt of your own at any of the following shopping malls in central Bangkok: Central Chidlom, Central Ladprao, Central Pinklao, Central Bangna and Siam Paragon.
