Broccoli Revolution Bangkok

Vegetarian Restaurant and Juice Bar in Thonglor

Broccoli Revolution Bangkok is a trendy vegetarian restaurant in downtown Sukhumvit. 100% vegetarian, mostly organic and very vegan-friendly, the menu is a combination of classics sourced from across the world, from Lebanese mezze platters to Vietnamese spring rolls. The brushed concrete, earthy tones, and hanging plants create the feeling of a hipster hangout in New York or Melbourne, but it’s ultimately the food which is the main draw.

Find Broccoli Revolution Bangkok on Sukhumvit Road, on the corner of Soi 49 almost halfway between Thonglor and Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain Stations.

With a focus on the freshest available produce and a commitment to classic tastes, the East-meets-West options cover a lot of ground. The current best-seller is the quinoa burger with broccoli puree and mango salsa on a charcoal bun (220 baht). The vegetable patty holds together surprisingly well and the range of flavours is impressive with the mango and slightly zingy salsa adding depth. The aforementioned mezze platter is great value at 290 baht, and comes with hummus, babaganoush and tzatziki. The vegetable crudites with tasty cashew miso dip (180 baht) is a colourful table decoration and a nice sharing bowl of crisp raw vegetables. There are plenty of Thai options too including pad Thai, mushrooms and basil on rice and green curry all for around 150-200 baht.

Open from 07:00, Broccoli Revolution is open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A speciality breakfast menu is coming although currently the menu runs through appetisers, salads, mains and a Weekly Specials board which takes inspiration from a seasonal vegetable or a regions particular cuisine. The cold press juice bar offers 18 different recipes – we picked No 1, a mix of kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, green apple, lime and ginger.

This is certainly a labour of love for the experienced Thai team behind Broccoli Revolution. With successful restaurants across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Myanmar, the health conscious focus ties in with a growing awareness of the importance of eating well and of the principles of Buddhism.

More than just a place to eat, the grand idea for Broccoli Revolution is to become a social space for like-minded people. With that in mind, the second floor will be turned into an art space for emerging local talent, and the top floor will be turned into an organic garden and beer bar. These are all works in progress but efforts are already underway.

For a funky and modern vegetarian hangout that is affordable for just about everyone, Broccoli Revolution is just about the best in town.
