    Discount shopping in Silom

  • ADVERTORIAL

Bangkok Fashion Outlet looks very much like all the other malls in the city, but at this one quality products have huge – unbelievable, almost – discounts of up to 90%. The outlet is part of the Central Group, one of the biggest retailers in Thailand, who have over 20 shopping malls and department stores around the country. This is their first discount outlet in central Bangkok, and it’s very easy to get to. Located on Silom Road, the closest BTS skytrain station is Surasak, around a five minute walk from the shopping centre. It’s open every day from 11:00 until 20:00.

There are over 500 different brands here and Bangkok Fashion Outlet is a great addition to a city already known for its excellent shopping. It’s definitely our top pick for the place to bag a bargain.

This is one of the most organised outlets we’ve been to and the quality of the goods is excellent, all originating from Central stores around the country. Arranged over four floors it includes men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories, as well as toiletries, home-ware and even a small selection of electronic items. The Bangkok Fashion Outlet stocks both international and Thai items and each of the rails is arranged by brand. Women’s shoes, handbags, fashion accessories and watches can be found on the ground floor, along with the teenage clothing. Fantastic brands that can be found here include Vivienne Tam, Juicy Couture, Love Moschino and British India. If you’re looking for discounted watches then there’s a good selection here too. Small accessory and perfume counters can be found inside the main stores, another great spot was Rayban sunglasses at 50% off.

It’s worth dedicating some time to rummaging through the racks, because Bangkok Fashion Outlet has packed a lot of goodies into the mall. Heading up to the second floor, there’s a large store dedicated to lingerie and nightwear, including brands such as La Senza and Jockey. The second floor is also where you’ll find the more expensive brands. The Outlet 24 includes Agnes B, French Connection, jeans from Wrangler and Lee, as well as a decent selection of Ralph Lauren clothing. The other store on this floor is the Minor Outlet with great kid’s offerings – we saw some excellent discounts on Gap on our last shopping trip. Everywhere you look there are signs proclaiming the great discounts on offer, going up to 90% on some items, but more likely to be between 60 to 30 percent reduced. Sizing varies of course, but the range is wide enough to ensure that it’s almost impossible to come away empty handed.

Go up the escalator again and there’s still plenty to discover. Supersports, a Central brand that stocks Nike, Adidas, New Balance and Fila can be found here. Also on this floor are the bulk of the menswear brands, including Lacoste and G Star Raw. Looking to update your home and a fraction of the cost? There’s plenty of discount crockery, towels and linens available in the home-ware store on the 3rd floor. Every month a different theme with see extra sales taking place, with goods picked to suit the season, such as summer clothing extravaganzas for Songkran (Thai New Year in April). For a quick bite to eat go down to the basement where you’ll find a food court, or grab a slice of cake at the cafe.

Bangkok Fashion Outlet is a must-visit if you are a fan of discount shopping because there’s no better sale in the city.
