As a tourist destination, Khao Takiab shines for its fresh, mouthwatering seafood and beach-side activities. But what makes Khao Takiab truly stand out is the number of luxury wellness spas and holistic spa resorts that cater specifically designed wellness courses to help rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. Apart from the beach activities and spas, Khao Takiab's relatively wide roads are ideal for exploring on a bicycle.

Although the area is well catered for in terms of public transport and taxis there is something about having your own mode of transport that offers a real sense of freedom. There are numerous places around Khao Takiab where you can rent either a push or a motor bike.
Once on the road you have the freedom to explore the stunning landscape at your own pace, and embark on a day of adventure heading off the beaten path in hope of discovering some undocumented gems. Do exercise caution, however, when riding on busy streets and sois.
Founded on the principle of providing the basis for mental and physical harmony, by blending scientifically proven Eastern and Western disciplines, Palapon is a holistic fitness centre that offers both short and long term courses. Here you can learn and practice everything from martial arts including Kung Fu and Muay Thai. Other ancient practices offered here include mediation and yoga classes.
The areas spanning Cha Am, Hua Hin and Khao Takiab are peppered with some of the finest and most picturesque golf courses in the country, including the Jack Nicklaus-designed course and six international standard courses. Each offers various obstacles and challenges, as well as well-trained caddies and clubhouse facilities.

A few beachfront hotels and guesthouses offer kayak rentals and they are particularly popular around this stretch of bay due to the attractive headland surrounding Khao Takiab. If beach lounging begins to get boring then take to a kayak. The surrounding waters are perfect for a bit of independent adventure and great for catching the sunset while working out.
Khao Takiab is one of the three beaches to go kitesurfing (the other two being Hua Hin beach and north of Cha Am beach). The relatively stronger gusts of thermal winds and bigger waves, particularly in November to January, make up for the fact that Khao Takiab beach is less expansive and often busier with activities.
Like Hua Hin and Cha Am, pony riding is a popular beach-side activity on Khao Takiab beach. Imagine galloping down the expansive beachfront on the back of a pony - or a horse - as you take in a sweeping panorama of the sea. Worry not, if you are new to pony riding. These are not wild horses that will gallop off at terrifying speeds leaving clouds of dust behind – they’re very tame and well trained to offer visitors an enjoyable experience. In most cases, the jockey will accompany you throughout the journey, and sometimes even teach you a few tricks on how to maneuver the gentle creature around the beach.
Khao Takiab is peppered with world-class wellness spas. At the luxury end of the spectrum, there are Chiva Som and The Barai at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, both award-winning spas with a holistic approach to wellness. So, while in Hua Hin, why not spend a day doing absolutely nothing but cleansing your body, mind and soul of all stress and care? If you would prefer to spend money on a day of blissful pampering, this is definitely the place to do so.
At the other end of the scale, you can pop into a massage shop and pay anything starting from 200 baht up to 500 baht for a massage. Therapists are attentive (some overly so, depending on your preference) usually you can tailor the strength of a massage by saying ‘bow bow’ meaning ‘gentle’ or ‘raeng raeng’ meaning ‘harder’.
