Six-star St Regis Hotel planned for Bangkok
Upmarket hotel and restaurant chain Minor International has announced details of what it says will be one of Bangkok's most exclusive hotels - and Thailand's first six-star hotel! The St Regis Hotel & Residences Bangkok will also feature Thailand's most expensive condominium, being planned on a prime location next to the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok in Rajadamri Road. The properties (hotel and condominium) are collectively worth four billion baht - the Group's biggest investment yet in Thailand - and is expected to open in 2010. It will comprise 169 guestrooms, 14 junior suites, 14 executive suites, one Presidential Suite, 22 serviced apartments (one and two bedrooms), 64 residences (three and four bedrooms), three penthouse units, and four duplex penthouse units with their own swimming pools.

The hotel part of the property will be managed by US hotel chain Starwood Hotels & Resorts under its top brand, St Regis, with a 20-year contract. Following the style of the St Regis in New York and in other top city destinations, the Bangkok property will target high-end tourists, and will set new standards for urban luxury living in Thailand - ideally positioned to serve both the city's influential business leaders and discerning leisure travelers. The Conrad is reeling in the awards

Happy Birthday to the JW Marriott Bangkok!

Coming Soon: The Courtyard Marriott
Scheduled to open in August 2007, The Courtyard Marriott will be the latest and fourth Mariott brand to open in Bangkok.
