The Admiral's name draws from a Danish Admiral who served as Commander in Chief of the Royal Siamese Navy in the service of King Chulalongkorn at the turn of the century. Many decorative items testify to the Scandinavian connections including a nearly two meters tall listing in the Pub of foreigners serving in the Siamese Navy from 1853-1962. Among the names, the Vikings are in majority and many interesting tales hide behind these names.
The Center piece of the Food & Beverage facilities of the Hotel Mermaid Bangkok is the Admiral’s Pub. Designed and decorated in maritime style, it is one of the most unique Pubs in Bangkok. Be surrounded by authentic nautical pices such as a steering wheel, a telegraph, solid brass portholes, and a wonderfully sounding ship bell when relaxing with a drink and meeting up with friends. Even the bar counter resembles the bow of a ship and serves various popular draught beers.
Whether it’s a business lunch or a culinary journey after a long day of work, the Admiral’s Restaurant will be able to stimulate your senses with Thai, International and Scandinavian delights.
