You just can't go hungry when you're in Bangkok. Exploring Bangkok's local markets is an adventurous experience, but if you prefer an air-conditioned environment, there plenty of supermarkets scattered all over the city, many of which sell the finest imported goods. So, grab a shopping cart and let's roll!

Tops Supermarket / Marketplace
With over 60 stores in Bangkok, Tops Supermarket is the largest supermarket chain in Thailand. Most of the stores are mainly located in Central and Robinson Department stores, while others are freestanding.

Carrefour, Big C and Tesco-Lotus
These chain superstores are emerging everywhere in Bangkok. Everything from mobile phones, clothes hangers to cosmetics and fish sauce can be found here.

Gourmet Market
This impressive supermarket offers a wide variety of foodstuffs, fresh produce and groceries, the best of  Thailand and beyond. Located in The Emporium and Siam Paragon.

Tokyu
Located at the north of MBK Centre, this Japanese store has a supermarket on 4th floor.

Isetan
Located in CentralWorld (formerly the World Trade Centre), this Japanese-owned store aims to please Japanese people visiting or living in Thailand.

One of Bangkok's premier supermarkets, Villa supermarket offers a wide range of imported and local products, including fresh bread and pastries, fresh meat, poultry and seafood. It has a full range of imported and local fruit, herbs and vegetables. There is also a small pharmacy, an extensive liquor and wine department and sections for English magazines, books and stationery. Another unique service Villa supermarket provides is a announcement board where, for a very modest fee, people can put up notices voicing their wants and needs. And they deliver!

Operating around the clock, Foodland stocks everything from wine, fresh produce and seafood to bread, pastries and household products. There's a total of ten branches in Thailand (eight of them are in Bangkok and the rest are in Sumut Prakarn and Pattaya).
