On Nut BTS Station (E9)
Where to Stay, Shop and Eat Near On Nut BTS Station
On Nut BTS Station, with direct access to the hypermarket chain Tesco Lotus, is like a rest stop for locals who come here to pick up groceries or have a quick meal before going home at the end of the day. Surrounding the station is a dense residential area with high-rise condos and home development projects, and the area has quickly come popular with expats wanting to take advantage of the slightly more affordable rental prices compared to those along the Sukhumvit BTS line in the very centre of Bangkok.
One of the most popular shopping, eating and drinking spots at On Nut is On Nut market, which is situated just beneath BTS Station. Stalls start to set up around dusk, selling mainly women’s fashion items and accessories. There is also a separate area designated for food and drink, and local bands perform on a central stage most evenings creating a lively atmosphere. There is a beer bar and street food stalls around the perimeter serving everything from Thai classics to sushi and burgers. There is also a large Big C supermarket near On Nut BTS Station (On Nut Road, just off Sukhumvit Road).
