Where to Stay in Khao San Road

Budget hotels and guesthouses have long been part of the Khao San skyline, even before the arrival of sidewalk bars, street stalls and clubbing venues. From modest sleeping pads, with nothing more than a bed and shared bathroom, Khao San’s guesthouse scene has evolved into something a little more sophisticated. More than just a place to rest your head, many guesthouses also feature a restaurant, outdoor pool, cable TV and even a modest spa. Nearby Soi Rambutree offers a range of budget accommodation modeled after those on Khao San but with a more chilled-out atmosphere.

Although there’s no BTS Skytrain or MRT Subway connection, Khao San is right in the centre of Old Bangkok. Historic attractions such as The Grand Palace, Temple of the Emerald Buddha and National Museum are within walking distance.
