3 Days Khao Yai Widelife Discovery

With around 2,500 plant species, over 350 bird species, and large mammals including elephants, gibbons, gaur, the Asiatic black bear and wild dog, Khao Yai National Park is a superb destination for wildlife adventurers.

This three-day trip takes you on numerous nature hikes, your guide leading you through some of the park's best forest habitat. Possible sightings include gibbons, stump-tailed macaque, barking deer, great hornbills, elephants, and more.

Includes:
- Accommodation with meals as mentioned in the program.
- Field equipment (backpacks, raincoats, leach socks, etc), and field porters/cook.
- Transfers and tours with English-speaking naturalist (for groups larger than 8 persons, 2 naturalist leaders will be used).
- Park entrance fees.

Excludes:
- Personal expenses such as drinks, tips, insurance etc.
- Other service not mentioned on this program such as optional tours.

Day 1: Bangkok-Khao Yai (Lunch & Dinner) – Walking Distance: 5 km.

Depart Bangkok for the two-hour drive to Khao Yai. Head out with your expert naturalist leader on a nature walk through the lush evergreen forest that dominates the central regions of Khao Yai national park. Porters are on-hand to carry food and other essentials, and a cook prepares a traditional Thai lunch for you in the forest.

Having freshened up after your walk, you will visit the park headquarters to learn more about the park and hear about on-going attempts to bring together wildlife monitoring, anti-poaching training and rural development projects to conserve the parks diverse wildlife. After dinner, set out on a night drive through the forest on the look out for elephants, deer, civets, porcupine and other wildlife. Overnight at Juladis Resort or similar hotel.

Day 2: Khao Yai (Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner) - Walking Distance: 5 km.

An early morning walk to a wildlife watchtower on the look-out for birds such as the great hornbill, and to witness dawn activities at a nearby mineral lick. Back for breakfast, then set out on a full-day nature trek with your naturalist leader. Again, porters will be carrying essentials for breakfast and another delicious lunch in the forest.

After finishing the walk, drive back to your hotel for a short rest before heading out to Elephant Mountain to see millions of bats flying out of the cave. Carry on night drive into the national park finding wildlife. Have dinner en route in a Traditional Thai restaurant. Arrive hotel around 21:00. Overnight at Juladis Resort or similar hotel.

Day 3: Khao Yai-Bangkok (Breakfast and Lunch) - Walking Distance: 4-5 km.

A morning nature trek that focuses on the lives of the parks gibbon population. You will set off early in an attempt to view these amazing forest acrobats at close range. Have lunch in a restaurant close to Haewsuwat waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in Khao Yai. Also visit Hawe Narok waterfall before heading out of the forest. Exit the forest at approximately 16:00 and transfer back to your Bangkok hotel.
