Frequently asked questions about Bangkok
What should I wear?
People have been asked to wear black or dark coloured clothes during the mourning period, but white or grey is acceptable.

What is closed and what is not?
Airports, hotels, shopping malls, markets and cultural attractions remain open, only some nightlife venues and leisure attractions may close for a short period of time, while others will remain open. If you have a specific venue in mind it's always best to check ahead. Pubs and bars have been allowed to open but they are not allowed to play loud music. Nightclubs and adult entertainment have closed voluntarily with no exact date on when they will reopen. The Grand Palace in Bangkok is closed to the general public until 20th October because King Bhumibol Adulyadej's funeral will take place at The Temple of The Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) inside the palace grounds.

How long will places be closed?
Most bars are open normally and nightclubs and other nightlife venues are expected to remain closed until Thursday 20 October.
